We waited for you all to show up, but finally gave up and rode up the beautiful path through Ojai and up Dennison Grade. When we were almost at our destination, Doris flatted -- it was a 1/4" tack -- very curious....
We found hundreds of loud, happy fans already up there. All the bikers who rode up the road got loudly whistled, cheered, and cowbelled.

Several of us rode to the top of the grade looking for the Specialized Angel. At the summit, the crowd cheered Yolanda and Brigitta for finishing in a tie for the 'Queen of the Mountain' jersey.

Back at our hillside vantage-point, we watched the valley below for signs of the approaching peloton. We never did see any helicopters. Every few minutes, reports would circulate through the crowd about the riders' location from fans talking on their cell phones to friends along the earlier parts of the route.

It was really cool watching the riders approach from the valley and up the switchbacks below us. Then the whole bunch pounded quickly by us.
As we saddled up, Robert found he had a flat. You guessed it -- a 1/4" tack identical to the one which flatted Doris.
We coasted down to Ojai, had an outstanding lunch, then cruised the path back to our rigs. What a great event! We hope you all can make it next year.
